Change of plans - verandering

Today I want to introduce you to Emma-Louise. The young lady who bought the Coventry which is now being remodelled.
She had her last day of work as a secretary and is now going to make it as a writer.
Here she is, straight out of work as you can see in her most awful outfit (seriously, who dresses these dolls??)

Emma-Louise came to talk to the architect because a few things need changing. First of all, she does not at all like the outside of the extension and second, she needs more space so the extension needs to be extended. Add to that, that there is not enough light in her office, the architect has his work cut out for him!

So while the plans for her cottage are being redrawn, she changed in something more happy.

This is a handmade tunic my mother used to wear in the 60's - 70's. It came with matching flared pants. The pants were thrown out but I managed to hold on to the tunic and I even kept the matching earrings. I loved it as a child, and I still love it. I think if you asked my soul to paint a self-portrait, this is what my soul would paint. This fabric touches me on a very deep level. They don't make patterns like these any more. Now and then, I take a little piece of the tunic for a project and today I used some of it to make a dress for Emma-Louise.

She went shopping and ran into the The A-team! Yes, they're back!

Angelique is delighted to have a new friend and she hit it off with Emma-Louise right away! They even have the same scooter!

So let's let the new neighbours get acquainted. We will come back when there are some more changes to the house.

  3. Hi Veronique! It is wonderful to meet Emma-Louise! I think the changes she wants to make to the house look very "promising"! She looks so much happier in the new dress! The piece of the pattern looks beautiful on her!I think is is great that you made it from part of the tunic that means so much to you! I remember the patterns of the sixties! (I was a teeny-bopper!) My Mother wore dresses of Marimekko patterns and always looked beautiful in them! It's great to see Art & Angelique back and even better that they will all be friends! It looks like there will be a lot of fun to come!

  5. I'm sure that once Emma -Louise has officially moved into the neighborhood, she and Angelique will spend a lot of coffee time together. Art may begin to feel a little left out so perhaps you should find a guy buddy for him too Veronique. ;P
Meanwhile as the cottage plans are redrawn, the rest of us are on pins and needles waiting to see how Emma-Louise's Coventry Cottage will turn out, and the suspense is killing us!

    Liefs, Ilona
